Nesting, nesting... 1, 2, 3
So I have definitely reached the nesting phase of my pregnancy. It's as if I need everything in my life to line up against the wall in an orderly fashion to be counted. This is proving rather difficult given the lack of energy I have, not to mention the lack of willingness of a certain 2.5 year old boy (who shall remain nameless) to cooperate!!
I'm washing like a mad woman. Yesterday I washed the baby clothes - some brand new, some 'hand me down' - and I got so much satisfaction from doing so. Those little terry onesies just kill me!
This weekend will bring a little bit of furniture shuffling, musical chairs style, to accommodate our expanding storage needs. Lachlan has a new tallboy and side table being delivered on Thursday (really should have ordered them at the same time as his bed as now I will have paid 2 lots of delivery fees - d'uh!). This means that his drawers/change table will be squeeeeezed into our bedroom alongside the cradle and our tallboy. It will be a tight fit but we will manage somehow.
For some reason though, I have an overwhelming urge to redecorate the apartment. I'm pretty sure the baby will not be judging me as a mother based on decor, but I just need it all to be perfect! Why do we do this to ourselves?
As mentioned previously, we are in the throes of house hunting. The logical side of my brain says wait until the new home to redecorate, but the impatient side (very dominant) says NOW NOW NOW! As I'm typing this post, I got distracted by Instagram and the lovely Lona de Anna announced a 25% off sale on her Etsy store. Click, click, click, oooops I bought this:
Can't wait to receive it and hang it - somewhere.
I'm also trawling Etsy for some great artworks for Lachlan's room. I sense this will be a whole post of its own once I narrow some down. Here are a few I'm considering:
A big thanks to those of you who have taken advantage of our big clearance sale so far. I do hope you enjoy your new goodies and would love to see photos of them in action sometime. I know of a house in Queensland that is about to be furnished with my three favourite cushion designs from the range.
The sale will continue throughout May and June and then all remaining old listings will be pulled off the site to make room for new ones when we re-launch at some point in the future.
xx

Not sure which way I will go, but I'm certainly seeing a colour theme develop there.

laurenskye Clearance Sale!!
As mentioned in yesterday's post, I will be putting the store on hiatus from June 2012 in order to concentrate on the changes happening in my life. Therefore all items in my store, with the exception of the most recent jewellery range, have been reduced down to cost price in order to start fresh at the re-launch.
These prices will not be repeated and any stock not sold will not be listed at the re-launch, so if there is anything you love, don't let it get away!!
Happy bargain shopping!

A Change of Direction
This is perhaps the most honest and personal post I have ever written, but it is one that needs to be shared so bear with me.
Today for me marks 36 weeks of being pregnant with bub #2, four weeks until my due date.

This is causing me to reflect on life as it is right now, where I have come from and what life will look like for the rest of 2012.
This has been a hard pregnancy for me, and in turn those closest to me. To the outside world though, I have nothing to complain about. We fell pregnant relatively easily, there have been no health concerns with the baby, and the ones that I have had are so standard for pregnancy that my doctor barely raises an eyebrow when I report my latest ailment to him. I am truly blessed, particularly when you compare my story with what some other families go through. And yet, it has been physically the hardest 9 months of my life.
I have been suffering from SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction), which basically means my pelvis feels like it could snap apart at any moment. I had some discomfort with Lachlan but nothing like this. I read a great post by another blogger recently who was bedridden by SPD so I'm thankful that it hasn't been that bad.

| Can still see my toes, just. |
On top of that, after the initial bout of morning (all day) sickness subsided - 20 weeks - the nausea never really went away so I have spent the better part of nine months being generally queasy and lethargic.
We are also looking to move from our little 2 bedroom apartment to a house, meaning time spent house hunting (no small task in the Sydney market).
Add a headstrong, active 2 year old toddler in to the mix and you have one very tired and grumpy pregnant woman.

What does all of this have to do with laurenskye accessories? Well, it has meant very little energy and time to create my new product ranges and marketing of the brand, meaning it is experiencing a major slump right now.
I love my little business but life is seriously getting in the way of its growth.
In light of this, I have decided to put the business on hiatus from the end of May until after I emerge from the inevitable post baby fog and can really focus on its future again. Therefore, all items currently listed in the store will be marked down to drastically reduced prices so I can start fresh. I will post on the blog, Facebook and Twitter once the markdowns are completed, and I do hope that you will take advantage of this sale.
I intend to continue blogging when time and inspiration allows, however I think you will notice that the blog is going to change direction slightly. I've been feeling a bit disconnected from it lately and have realised that this is because there is not enough of "me" injected into it. I've been so busy admiring other peoples style and photos on the blog, I have left myself out of the picture. I've also found myself being a little jealous of those bloggers who do allow themselves to open up their lives on their blogs. It is such a supportive community. So you will see more personal posts, like this one, popping up from time to time, and I do hope you share and enjoy the journey with me.
Due to the changes happening here and in the store, I would love to hear any feedback from you, either on blog content, or our products. I get so excited when people take the time to comment. I'm opening the forum up for discussion on what you enjoy about what I offer, and/or what you would like to see changed. When I re-launch I shall also be reviewing my pricing schedule so now is the time to speak up if you have a strong opinion on this!
I hope this post has not sounded too melancholy, I am actually super excited about the impending arrival of the newest member of our little family, and honestly do feel incredibly lucky that we have had no major issues arise (touch wood!).

Shoe Candy
I can't decide whether this post is very timely or very ridiculous considering that this close to the end of my pregnancy I am living purely in Havaianas or ballet flats a size too large to accommodate my swollen feet. At any rate, just because my feet aren't interested in shoes doesn't mean the fashionista in me isn't.
Here are some of my recent lust-haves:
